Which entity
is best for you?
S Corporation, C Corporation or LLC?
There are many books written on this subject.
Unfortunately, most do the same thing; they tell you the pluses and minuses of sole proprietorships,
Nevada S Corporations, C Corporations, Limited Partnerships and LLCs.
They all leave out the most important
factor; which entity is best in your situation.
Typically, most companies that help you with this
decision have a couple of problems:
- They already have made up in their minds
what is the best entity for you without
asking you questions. Many companies seem to think
C corporations are best for everyone. They are not.
- They ask one or two
questions and make a conclusion as to what entity
may be best for you. The reason they do this is two fold: First,
by only asking a couple of questions they can keep the process
simple for them which leads to a sale for them or a result
(like giving you a quick answer). Second, they may not know
more than the basics; therefore, they are unable to get into
a detailed discussion about choice of entity.
