Yes—in almost all cases. Form 1583 is legally required by USPS for any third-party service (like ours) to receive and forward mail on your behalf. It confirms your identity and authorizes mail handling through a registered Commercial Mail Receiving Agency (CMRA).
The only exception: If you lease your own U.S. office and employ your own staff (not a virtual service or third-party office), you don’t need Form 1583. However, this triggers serious tax and compliance obligations—especially for foreign-owned LLCs—including permanent establishment (PE) exposure, payroll tax filings, and U.S. income tax liability.
Bottom line: If someone offers to forward mail without Form 1583, they’re either non-compliant or taking risks that could impact your banking, IRS filings, and platform verification. We don’t operate that way—and we protect our clients by doing it right from day one.
